Our Final Day |
So sad to say goodbye to Brazil, I can't wait to go back. |
Day 13
Tuesday, January 14, 2015 (Written in first person) Today is our last day. I am sad to be leaving. I’ve had a great time on this trip. I woke up randomly at 5:30 in the morning and took a shower. At 9 we met in the lobby and went to Tijuca to go hiking. It was to actually get a hike in. we took some great pictures. Our cab driver was crazy and didn’t know where he was going. I’m so happy to have met everyone on this trip. I made new friends and learned new things. It was refreshing to listen to the older sustainability majors. It gives me hope that I’ll have everything together the way they do, eventually. Being that I just changed my major to sustainability it was great to meet other sustainability majors. I hope in the future people who go on this trip have as much fun and learn as much as I have, if not more. |
A Reflection of the Trip as a Whole
There are lots of things we did not do that I'm pretty upset about. I would have liked to explore the Amazon more in depth, literally. I feel like I kind of got ripped off in that sense. Also, I expected to go on more hikes and was really looking forward to them before we left for the trip. When we were in Curitiba we did not go to Flowers Street, which was one thing I really wanted to do, especially since I did my presentation on it. I was given the opportunity to go to Ipanema, and I did want to do that, but unfortunately none of my peers wanted to, so I sadly did not go there. Fortunately, I have a 10 year Visa and can go back any time I please, so hopefully in my lifetime I'll be able to do all of the things I missed. All in all, I'm so happy with my experience, and I can't help but look back at pictures and smile. Thank you for the opportunity.
